About Me
I’m Asha, an anesthesiologist and an accidental leader.
At the stage in my career where I ‘became a leader’ I had no desire for it. I was content with where my career was, with being a new partner in my private practice Anesthesia group and I was busy being a mom with two young kids.
I wasn’t exactly offered a leadership position, yet when one opened up unexpectedly, I found myself raising my hand.
And as happens many times when you take a leap of faith and trust yourself, my life changed in ways that I would never have dreamed.
It was hard work and yet, as I went from position to position, I thrived. And I realized I enjoyed the challenges and the satisfaction of being able to fix things and make changes.

It was hard work and yet, as I went from position to position, I thrived. And I realized I enjoyed the challenges and the satisfaction of being able to fix things and make changes.
The toughest part of my leadership journey was feeling alone and not having a community that I could rely on and learn from. And not knowing who to reach out to for help in the days before social media communities. And not knowing where to find other physicians who faced similar challenges to what I did was tough. It was very lonely.
I realized I would have to find and create my own help group. And when i started reaching out and asking, I found, to my surprise that I wasn’t alone. Female colleague after colleague identified with the same challenges I faced.
And there in was born, first, a blog, now defunct, and now this newer version, of a podcast and a blog, where women physicians can learn from each other and be better leaders.
So come join us and learn leadership skills from some of the best women leaders around, share your skills with us and let us all go on this journey together.
